Grubbin On Gordos / Game 4 – Warriors Rockets

Happy Memorial Day! How privilege and thankful I am to be able to enjoy a beer, carnitas burrito from Gordo Taqueria while watching game 4 Warriors/Rockets game.

Gordo Taqueria

The Warriors lost tonight in Huston against a win or go home Rockets team. Made most of the night by sharing my thoughts on what I believe is one of the best burritos that you can find in San Francisco. Gordo Taqueria makes good carne asada and pollo but their carnitas is just so amazing with its flavors, great crunch from the bark, and the right balance of salt. There are many ways one can order their burrito at Gordo but I enjoy my carnitas burrito in a simple basic way: rice, refried beans, cheese, carnitas, and their green sauce. By ordering the burrito this way allows the carnitas to truly be the star of the meal instead of being shadowed by other flavors such as guacamole, or salsa, or what ever else one would like to place in their burrito.

There are many great taquerias in the Bay Area and all over the US. Where’s yours and what is your favorite thing to order from the menu?

Leaving A Legacy

Today a coworker of mine had a seizure while at work. Call me sheltered but I’ve never seen anything like that before. Seeing a friend go through such pain and not sure how things would go made me think about life and what type of mark I want to leave behind.

So Soon? Another Motovlog Post: Future Sailor Talk

Can’t believe that I am already posting another motovlog up on Youtube. I just happen to have a lot on my mind these days and just needed to get things out in the air.

Hello World! My First Motovlog!

Finally! After many unsuccessful attempts at  recording my first motovlog, I finally made one!

The reason that it took several hundred attempts are capturing my first motovlog is that camera angles were wrong, mumbling to much, audio, and so on. Playing around with camera angles and views took a while till I had the POV and angle that thought would be ideal for you, the viewing audience. Gathering my thoughts early in the morning and forming them into words didn’t always work out well that ended with me mumbling and rambling away. Then there were audio issues, trying to record audio onto my iPhone turned out horribly bad. Even with all the trial and errors that I ran into, it was good practice and a learning experience.

I’m sure by my 25th motovlog post, there will be a huge improvement that I can look back on where I started and see the change… for the better I’m hoping!

Enjoy and let me know what you think about my first motovlog. I’m already looking forward to my next post!

Vlog Post 006: Fantasy Football

We are less than a week away till the NFL regular season is here! With that said, do you have your fantasy football team drafted and ready?!?

In my latest vlog post I talk about this year’s draft for my league: how I am unprepared for the draft,  who I drafted, why drafted certain players, and my overall thoughts and feelings of my drafted team.

This year, Yahoo Sports grades how well you did on your draft. I believe the draft grade is something new for Yahoo since I don’t recall being graded last year. Anyway, my grade for this year’s draft is a D. Ouch.

My Draft Report Card from Yahoo

The report card also includes several graphs that illustrate strength of schedule per week, the ADP (Average Draft Position ranking where a player would get drafted) of my pick per round, players points by bye week, and average points by position versus the league.

Graphs that help you understand why I was graded a D for my draft.

Do you like criticism, especially on how well you think your draft went?  Well the report card does that, it criticizes your top 5 picks, whether your decision to pick that player was good or bad.

Getting some healthy criticism from a bot

Well, here’s my team: The Vermillion Group. Kinda hard to tell how good (or bad) this group is when you can’t see my competition and their team. And to be honest I can’t blame Yahoo for giving me a D when I drafted an unknown rookie tight end, by the name of Zach Sudfeld, in the 10th round before drafting a QB. Eh…

The Vermillion Group

P.S. If any of you are looking for a fantasy football league to join, I got a friendly fantasy football league with a little money involved, $20. With money involved, people play with a bit more seriousness, creating a funner experience.

And if you know anyone that would like to join, feel free to invite them.

Cheers!

Unboxing: Vivitar 1250 Tripod

My first unboxing vlog post on my Youtube channel where I unbox a tripod that I picked up from Amazon, a Vivitar 1250 Tripod. Shot with my GoPro that I mounted on my bike pump since I didn’t have a tripod at the time. I do go off tangent a bit here and there, sorry. Let me know what you folks think about this video.

Thanks!

Vlog Post 004: Last Minute Sunset Time Lapse

In the past month the marine layer has  had San Francisco under a blanket of fog. However on Tuesday the City had a reprieve from the fog that created the most beautiful summer day that San Francisco has had all year.

With no fog or cloud insight, I took the opportunity to capture a time lapse of sunset. Sadly the sun had begun its descent into the Pacific by the time I arrived at Ocean Beach, leaving about an hour of sunlight left.

Time Lapse Fun

Here is a time-lapse compilation video that I made while on my East Coast trip. Sadly all good things must come to an end and now I am on my way back to the West Coast and was in CLT typing up this draft as I head to LAX. Anyway, let me know what you think!

Thanks for all the hospitality! Can’t wait to come back East!

EDC Day 3, I am the one who knocks.

EDC Day 3 ended last Sunday and I’m only getting this post out now, Wednesday. Oh well, it was a long journey back to the Bay and I was spent. Anyway, Enjoy!

EDC Day 2, OMG!

What another awesome day at EDC! W started the day a little late, didn’t get past the gate till about ten but still managed to see a ton of headliners and have some fun.

On a tiny journalist news reporting note, there was a small isolated fire last night that involved a golf cart, which was probably caused by a short circuit. Firefighters responded to the scene quickly and were able to extinguish the flame before anyone could get hurt and too damper the mood of the revelers.

I did make a small time lapse that didn’t turn out to well due to the lighting condition. However if you’d like to view the time-lapse video, you can view it here.

When we got back to our hotel we checked out the Bamboo Pool here at the Cosmopolitan where we played around with the GoPro to get some cool and neat shots. Now I’m off to get some rest; it’s about noon and hasn’t slept since we got back.
