Live Online Draft Now!!

Beast Mode Live Online Draft

My fantasy football league’s live online draft is happening now! Who’s ready for some football!

Round 1 Pick 11 I picked up the Gronk!  I’m hoping that he has a monstrous year just like last year.

It’s Not Just Monday, It’s Labor Day!

Relax, It’s Labor Day

Happy Labor Day folks! Hope that you are having a wonderful Labor Day Weekend. After today, summer is ‘officially’ over and everyone is back to school or work this Tuesday… Unless you are in retail, then you’re working today and I feel your pain. Anyways, football is back this Wednesday and the A’s are making a run for the pennant! Yeah!!!

Endless Shopping

Out shopping with the future wife. She’s lucky that I have patience, enjoy the quality time with her, and that I love her.

Ugh… Monday

Work Less.

I hope that most of you had a wonderful weekend as I did. I was up all night watching my shows and the Olympics simultaneously, that I did not sleep till god knows when.

Anyways, happy Monday, try not to work to hard folks.

Happy Sunday!

Football is back this Sunday with the NFL Hall of Fame game where the Saints beat the Cardinals 17-10. Even though the game was just a preseason game, these games are important to the 32 NFL teams as they weed out their roster and fine tune their play books. Preaseson games are important to me because they remind me that the NFL regular season is just right around the corner! I just can’t wait for fantasy football, Sunday night games, Monday Night Football, bbq’s, tailgating, thrash talking, and big hits!!

Besides football being back on the national spotlight (I’m a huge football fan and football has never left my eyes thanks to the NFL Network), it’s Sunday which means a new episodes of Breaking Bad!

Breaking Bad on the cover of Rollingstone

With Game of Thrones ending their season weeks ago, I am excited to have the final season of Breaking Bad on AMC. I can’t wait to get home and see what Jessie and Walt are into.

And if any of you are looking for a good show to watch, check out Newsroom on HBO. Newsroom is about a news anchor that has decided to do the news right by reporting legitimate news, not lying, having reputable guest, and staying away from pop news segments. Newsroom also premieres new episodes on Sundays but if you have HBO Go, you can catch up on episodes you miss anytime. If not you can find Newsroom and almost any show on ch131.so but you did not get that information from me.

Happy Sunday and have a wonderful night.

Happy Friday!

It’s Friday and I’m almost off! Can’t wait for the weekends to get here. Hope that the rest of you are already off and at happy hour 🙂

Side note, thanks for all the wonderful years in the green and gold to Kurt Suzuki, who just got dealt to the Nationals today.

Instagram, Rants, and Blah all in one…

Lately I’ve been taking photos with my cell phone, posting it on Instagram, and ignoring my blog. Well, I’ve decided to put more effort in blogging… But first I had to ask myself a few questions. Do I enjoy blogging? Why do I blog? And what do I gain from blogging?

I do enjoy blogging when I have/make time for it. I have many other activities that I enjoy more than blogging but that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy blogging. In case you’re wondering what other activities  I enjoy other than blogging, they are:  sleeping, gaming, surfing the web, watching sports, enjoying a nice cold beer (s), photography, spending time with family, working out, watching movies/tv shows, reading, and so on. I don’t hate blogging and blogging doesn’t feel like a chore to me, I just need to prioritize and make time for blogging.

But why should I make time for blogging when I enjoy other activities more?

The reason I blog is to keep myself productive in a positive way. Instead of wasting time gaming, surfing the web, or watching movies and tv, by blogging stimulates my mind and makes me think about things… Random and irrelevant things. Gaming is stimulating; it does make me think  and has me involved actively in a community. However for the most part when I am online, trolling the web, I am just hitting the ‘Like” button to participate in conversations. Blogging gives me a voice to post my opinions in a more productive and critical manner which involves more than 140 characters. Basically I have to put more effort in a blog post versus to just saying ‘Happy Friday!’ as a post, even though I can.

So what do I gain from blogging rather than just having to think more and being more ‘productive’ with one self?

Reflection. For now reflection is the best answer to my own question. Months from now I get to look back at my blog and see myself in my own POV and reflect to that particular time. With reflecting I hope to learn from my experience, laugh, and be at awe with myself. In truth this blog is my own personal public diary.

I plan, no, I will put more of myself out there publicly for those that are reading this so that they can understand me better and have a true unfiltered insight into my character. I’ll write more fluidly with my style but keep the grammar and spelling neat (as best as I possibly can). I wont apologize for being blunt, rude, inappropriate, or polite. In the past, one of the challenges that I have with blogging is worrying about what people will think. To hell with that worry. This is my diary and if you don’t like it, leave comment. Plus it’s just a blog.

EDC Refund

For all of you wondering about a refund for EDC Saturday night’s cancellation, here is Insomniac’s response:

“Thank you for your attendance and support at this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas. We read your email and appreciate your input and comments. We are also glad to incorporate as many of your suggestions into next year’s event as possible. Every year we strive to make the experience better and better.

For most of Saturday night, from 7pm until just before 1am, EDC was operating on all cylinders. Unlike Friday and Sunday, when the weather was ideal, the unanticipated extremely high winds on Saturday night forced us to evacuate the primary stage areas in the interest of public safety. While our stages were built to withstand much higher winds without possibility of collapsing, there were gusts of wind in excess of 40mph. As you may know, at a couple of non-Insomniac outdoor concerts last summer, high winds were the cause of high profile stages collapsing — resulting in tragedy for some innocent attendees.

Come rain or shine, we can accommodate the experience. But we all share the risk of changes caused by unpredictable, hazardous natural conditions.

Providing you with an experience you will remember your entire life is actually our second top priority; keeping you safe during your experience is our absolute number one top priority. We simply could not put any of you, our devoted supporters and extended family, in harm’s way. We are an independently owned, boutique business, and we made a heartbreaking decision on Saturday night, but it was the right choice – everyone made it home safe and sound.

Your peaceful cooperation with the evacuation to safe areas was inspiring and historic. While the winds never calmed enough to resume the primary stage shows, Markus Schulz, Steve Aoki and other DJs performed impromptu sets on the Wide Awake art car and the Recharge sound system until dawn.

Insomniac can do many things, but one thing we cannot do is control Mother Nature. Consistent with our written ticket policy, Insomniac will not issue full or partial refunds to Electric Daisy Carnival ticket holders.

Here is the ticket refund policy that was in place upon your purchase for EDC Las Vegas ticket sales:

“All sales are final. There are no refunds, no cancellations, no credits, no exchanges, and no transfers after the order has been made. Unforeseen circumstances beyond Flavorus’ control will not be grounds for a refund, including but not limited to the following: local or national weather conditions and natural disasters, waiting in lines, family and medical emergencies.

Promoters, Venue owners, Security and Event Staff have the right to refuse entry to any ticket holder, without a refund, for any reason at their discretion, including but not limited to: disorderly behavior, intoxication, venue capacity, breach of security

restrictions. Ticket holder is aware that the Venue and Talent are subject to change. Ticket holder is aware that amenities promised by promoters are not guaranteed by Flavorus and are not grounds for a refund, including but not limited to: VIP amenities, drink specials, gifts, express entry, special areas, celebrity guests.”

We wholeheartedly appreciate your understanding and we hope to have your continued support. We made Sunday even more special by firing double the fireworks and by using all of the flame and other special effects that couldn’t be used on Saturday. Avicii’s unscheduled performance and Armin van Buuren’s bonus performance were both added too. Perhaps most importantly, the energy and overall vibe brought by the fans on Sunday night was unbelievable.

Again, we read all of your emails and we listen to all of your comments. Please know that you have our absolute commitment for EDC 2013 to improve your experience in every way possible and to deliver you the greatest experience of your life!

Thank you for your support, and as always, for helping us bring the festival to life. We hope to see you at EDC 2013!

Sincerely,

The Insomniac Family”

EDC 2012

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!

Sander Van Doorm
Sander Van Doorm doing it big at EDC

This was my first time ever attending an event of this magnitude! Great music, fireworks, lights, fire, lasers, friends, and wind, I loved it!

If you do not know what the Electric Daisy Carnival is, click here to see a trailer to the event.

Yes, I am STILL bummed out on  missing Steve Aoki performing with Blue Man Group, Tiesto, and Avicii (Avicii did perform on Sunday) but glad that Insomniac did the right thing by cancelling the event.

For those of you going through EDC withdrawals, here’s the set list from EDC: http://www.electricnation.net/edclv/

“Get the sets you missed and the ones you love” – Jon Nguyen.

I’ll let my Instagram pics do the rest of the talking 🙂

We're here!
We’re here!
Through the gates and into the carnival!
The beast at the Q Dance Stage.. What the history behind this guy?
Lights and more lights!
Enjoying Nicky Romero in the Kinetic Field
Lights and rides
Private light show 🙂
Going wild to Calvin Harris
Kinetic Field being cleared out for our safety against the mighty wind
Q Dance stage cleared out as well

Sadly that above was my last EDC pic of the whole 3 day event. I ended up selling my Sunday ticket to a buddy that drove down but didn’t have a ticket. We should had found one on CL so that we all could had enjoyed the experience together. My only regret for the weekend. I’ll post more pics and some videos up from my camera when I get a chance later this week… Or weekend since it’s Design Week here in the City. Until then, dance the night away 🙂
