Rainbow Six Siege

In the late 90’s, or pre 9/11, I was introduced to the game called Rainbow Six by my uncle. This was the first game where I learned how to hack a game and edit the various stages and scenarios by determining how many enemies there would be, dictating the path that they would roam, how sensitive they are to noise and movement, and their level of difficulty. There would be many nights of little to no sleep as I would spend hours customizing scenarios then sharing and playing the scenario with the wonderful online community.  Ever since then the brand Rainbow Six has held a special places in my heart.

Fast forward to today we have the hundredth iteration to the game under the title Rainbow Six Siege. One big difference about the game is that there ain’t a story online and it is purely a PVP and PVE (scenario/terrorist hunt) game.

There are a slew of FPS games out there but what draws me to the game is that it is a much slower paced game than others, especially since each player has a single life per round. There is so much great things going for the game that I can talk about this game however what irks me is that Ubisoft servers are horrible, too many dropped matches… Check out this communication thread between my brother and the Support team.

Sigh… Below is my rant on the game, just the thought of writing about the experience is depressing. With that said, I still love Rainbow Six Siege… Odd, right?

Friday Escape – Happy Memorial Weekend!!

Holy crap! What an unproductive night for me!  Sun is coming up and all I managed to do was watch the final 2 episodes of True Detective and cook myself breakfast at 2am. Then spent the next hour on Youtube watching random shit about RDA’s, builds, vape reviews, etc. On the plus side, I stumble across one of Madeon’s old video, which is one of my faves!

Don’t forget, this weekend is Memorial Weekend! Memorial Weekend means that YOU need to go outside, enjoy the sun, bbq, don’t work to much, eat food, and say thanks to all those that gave their lives to make this weekend possible! As for myself, I am working my final 2 days at my job! Been a roller coaster ride these past 2 years. THANK YOU ALL! Then on Memorial Day itself, I will be tailgating with friends and family at O.co before watching the A’s beat on the Tigers.

Let’s Go Oakland!

Now.. I’m off to crawl under the sheets and take a quick power nap before I have to be at work in a few hours.

Random Wednesday Rant – GOT

Happy Hump Day!

With today being the last Wednesday of the month, this Wednesday can only one thing. Winter is Coming!

Not sure how many of you folks are Game of Thrones fans, and if you’re not you need to get with the program! Watch the series on HBO, so far there has been 2 season that has been produced and published. With only 2 season to catch up, one can get brought to speed by Sunday, when the Third season comes out. Currently each season of GOT covers about 1 book from the GOT book series that was written by George R.R. Martin. There are currently 5 books out with George R.R. Martin planning to write a total of 7 books for the A Song of Ice and Fire series).  Book 3 is one of my favorite book of the series. BAD ASS is the best way that I can describe it.

HBO’s The Game of Thrones returns this Sunday March 31st.

For those of you that does follow the GOT, check out this short webisode series that I stumbled upon on YouTube. It’s called the School of Thrones, an adaption of GOT set in high school. Who ever wrote the show understood the main characters and the plot of the series. The acting is YouTube standard, a tiny bit cheesy, but the intro animation is pretty damn good, and these webisodes are a nice quick fix to those still going through GOT withdraws.

Wild Wednesday Rant

What I’ve learned from watching shows such as the West Wing, The Wire, Boss, along with reading books like Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, Animal Farm, Leviathan to name a few, and from life experience. Is that even though we are living in a democratic country, no longer a republic country, lands and titles are still worth as much as they were when the British Monarchy controlled the colonies. The only difference is that instead of Sirs, Lords, and Barons we are using the terms CEO, CTO, VP, Council Member, and so forth. With these titles come a larger paycheck and a better view of the city. One must ask the same question that our fore fathers asked during the British rule over the colonies, what are these modern day lords doing for us?
